Since joining Davis Coffer Lyons in 2005, Paul has helped to create and develop our dedicated pub team, which has rapidly become market leader. He brought with him 10 years of specialist licensed experience working in the UK leisure market and also has specialist knowledge within the retail and hotel industry having previously worked for a nationwide leisure practice. He specialises in advising operators, landlords and tenants across the sector on acquisitions and disposals, and group strategies.
Widely recognised as an expert within the pub market, Paul’s talent for spotting trends and conditions affecting operators and landlords is reflected by his impressive client list. Along with corporate transactions, he and the team have acted for single and multiple operators on a substantial amount of private individual deals throughout the UK. Over the last 18 months he has advised and acted on a number of high profile deals to the value in excess of £500million.
Some notable recent deals include the acquisition of a portfolio of six Walkabout bars from Inntertain; the disposal of freehold sites on behalf of Young’s; advising Town & City on the restructure and disposal of various concepts; freehold acquisitions on behalf of Faucet Inns; continued advice for Cavendish Bars; disposal of Prestige Group in excess of £7million; disposal of the Warrington pub on behalf of Gordon Ramsey for £5.1million; acquisitions on behalf of Capital Pub Company.
