Daniel Mackernan is a Chartered Surveyor with wide-ranging specialties. He advises on trade-related valuations, rent reviews, lease renewals, acquisitions & disposals, and business rates. Daniel has over 11 years experience, beginning his career working for brewers Marston’s and SNPC, before moving to a consultancy role at DCL in January 2005. Whilst working across the UK, his regional area of expertise is concentrated in London, the South East and East Anglia. Since 2006, Dan has also been involved in professional work in the High Street pub and restaurant market and the nightclub sector. Daniel advises the major pub companies, institutions and landlords as well as individual tenants.
He was elected as a panel valuer on the Pubs Independent Rent Review Scheme (PIRRS) in March 2011. He is a recognised expert on the BII Rating Panel and invited to join the panel of professionals under the BIIBAS scheme. He also provides valuation advice to all the leading banks, private equity firms and investors, and most recently has been involved in Expert Witness cases.
Daniel is a Fellow of the Association of Valuers of Licensed Property (AVLP), a leading body of specialists in the industry. He is also an associate member of the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII), a professional body in the licensed sector. He is a Council Member of the BII London Region.
Daniel is also a regular contributor to many public and private conferences including the BII, IBC UK Conferences and the Henry Stewart Leisure Conference
